The 2017 Snoqualmie Indian Tribe Culture, Health & Fitness Youth Camp is scheduled for Sunday, August 20 - Thursday, August 24, 2017!

The Snoqualmie Indian Tribe's Youth Camp is FREE to Native American 5th-12th graders only. Camp emphasizes health and fitness and includes:

  • Culture
  • Traditional foods and medicine
  • Language
  • Environmental conservation
  • Drug and alcohol awareness
  • Safety and first aid training
  • Healthy living
  • Traditional storytelling
  • Community involvement

Other need-to-know information about Youth Camp:

  • A Snoqualmie Police Department officer will be onsite in plain clothing and children will not know that the individual is an officer until the last day of camp. That way children have an opportunity to develop a relationship and not stereotype.
  • Camp staff and counselors must possess and extensive background check prior to working with children.
  • Female youth are teamed with an adult female counselor; male youth are teamed with an adult male counselor. 
  • Each counselor has an average of 6 -8 kids per cabin and receive CPR, First aid, and AED certification. 
  • Camp takes place at Camp Waskowitz, which is located in North Bend and owned by Highline School District. Campus includes two female cabins, two male cabins, dining hall, three classrooms, barn/dancing hall, recreation field, riverside campfire with theater seating, and over 100 trails for walking.
  • Children must be signed in by a parent/guardian or by someone who a parent/guardian gives permission to sign their child in. ID is required and children can't be dropped off or picked up without ID and/or note.
  • Tribe staff and school district staff are on the premises at all times.
